 verlooking Arona on the southern tip of Lake Maggiore this enchanting Castle is an almost unique example, in Italy of neo-gothic style based on the original English 16th century gothic Tudor architecture. It was the Marquis Claudio Dal Pozzo d’Annone, who, in the second half of the 19th century, enlarged and rebuilt the existing structure, which dates back to the middle ages. Great care and attention was paid to even the smallest details. The overall predominating influence can be attributed to William Morris and "The Arts and Crafts" movement.
